For this week’s Featured Artist Friday post, I’m showcasing several talented artists who make supplies for other artists and crafters or teach others how they do what they do through the tutorials they sell. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make prim stuffed toys, beaded jewelry, make lampwork beads, make rag quilts and/or felt toys, you’ll want to check out these crafters and their tutorials. This week, I’m also featuring one of the crafty suppliers from Crafty Tips who sells a wide variety of paper die cut items to use in your paper crafting projects.
Category: Featured Fridays
Featured Fridays started out as a program where I hoped to showcase the work of 3-5 of the talented people who are participating on Crafty Tips each week. The premise seemed simple, anyone who had completed an item that they were particularly proud of could have that item showcased here on Blog About Crafts. If more than 5 people submitted something, I would randomly draw for who would be featured that week.
Oddly enough, I haven’t had any takers. With the redesign of Blog About Crafts, I embarked on a new direction for Featured Fridays. Crafters can still email me with their projects but I will be pulling most of the projects from the RSS feeds of blogs from participants in Crafty Tips. I am still adding more and more of the blogs of existing Crafty Tips submissions. Keep in mind, this means that Etsians and other shop owners as well as site owners who do not offer a blog will not be considered for featured Fridays unless you drop me an email to let me know about your latest creation.
It’s my sincere hope that with the revitalization of Blog About Crafts that this category will grow into a true opportunity for artisans and crafters to bring their work to a wider audience. If you would like to participate and already have a listing on Crafty Tips, please use my contact form to tell me about your project so that I can include it here.
