Kindness and caring comes in all shapes and sizes. A simple idea to help area artisans obtain the health care they need in exchange for their time has led to colorful murals, dance therapy, music therapy, a stronger sense of community and so much more. But perhaps this successful program has more to teach us…
Category: Sharing The Love
Throughout all of my travels in this great country of ours, I am continually amazed at the kindness and love that people show towards one another. Maybe it’s part of our creative nature but it seems that many people who make things with their hands are some of the most kind-hearted people that I meet. Not to slight other creative types, but there’s just something about crafters that makes us different from other people.
Despite different religions, politics and countries of origin, crafters often can quickly forgo what they disagree about and join forces to help others. Sharing the Love is a place where I share the wonderful things that crafters are doing for the greater good. Through their generosity or random acts, folks are sharing their love for each other and their art.
I also hope to share stories about those special moments that can catch us unawares that often change us. From a beautiful moment in a craft store to a bit of a rant about political correctness, I also talk about things that are dear to my heart. You might not agree with all of these posts but it’s my blog, so tough tiddly-winks.
If you know of a crafter or artist doing something special for others, please drop me a note so that I can spread the word. I may not have a huge following on Blog About Crafts but hopefully, in my own small way, I can help get the word out about their efforts.
